Shorthanded Bayern puts the boots to Olympiakos

By Agence France-Presse in Munich | China Daily | Updated: 2015-11-26 07:56

Bayern Munich demonstrated its insatiable desire for silverware on Tuesday by thrashing Olympiakos 4-0 with 10 men to reach the Champions League knockout stages as group winner.

Bayern raced into a 3-0 lead after just 20 minutes at Allianz Arena thanks to goals by Douglas Costa, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Mueller before defender Holger Badstuber was sent off.

The Germany defender marked his first start in seven months after injury by earning a red card, but Bayern barely broke stride as France winger Kingsley Coman notched its fourth goal.
