Tension high after jet downed

Tension between Turkey and Russia has escalated after Turkish warplanes shot down a Russian military jet along the border with Syria on Tuesday.

According to a Turkish military statement, two Turkish F-16s shot down the Su-24 after warning its pilots 10 times in five minutes that they were violating Turkish airspace.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the plane was attacked when it was 1 kilometer inside Syria, and he warned of "serious consequences" for what he termed a "stab in the back".
