Foot amputated after 'cure' fails

A senior citizen in Chengdu lost his right foot after repeatedly immersing it in hot water for long periods after experiencing long-term cold and loss of sensation. When the 70-year-old attempted to remedy the situation by bathing the foot or covering it with a hot water bottle, his toes began to rot. Surgeons diagnosed severely restricted blood circulation in the man's lower limbs, and amputated his foot to stop the condition spreading.
