Broberg edges Reed in playoff

Swede's cool putt ices first victory on European Tour

Kristoffer Broberg sank a downhill 12-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win the BMW Masters and his first European Tour title in Shanghai on Sunday.

The Swede carded a four-under 68 on the final round to finish even with American Patrick Reed at 17-under 271. That forced the playoff, which started on the 18th at Lake Malaren.
