Each of the 31 municipalities, provinces and autonomous regions on the Chinese mainland has at least one senior official being investigated for suspected violations of laws or Party rules. A total of 58 high-ranking provincial officials have been placed under investigation since the first was taken away in December 2012.
1. Li Chuncheng, former deputy Party chief of Sichuan province, was the first provincial-level official to be investigated after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012. In October, Li was sentenced to 13 years in prison for taking bribes worth almost 40 million yuan ($6.3 million).

2. Shanxi province has the largest number of provincial-level officials being investigated since the 18th CPC National Congress. The seven high-ranking officials being investigated include Jin Daoming, former deputy head of the Shanxi Provincial People's Congress; and Ling Zhengce, vice-chairman of the province's advisory body.
