Official vehicle numbers cut

The reform of the use of official vehicles in 140 State entities has led to 3,868 cars being taken out of service, Shi Zihai, spokesman for the National Development and Reform Commission, said at a news conference on Thursday. He said 50,000 officials and civil servants were involved in the process. In addition, 29 municipalities, provinces and autonomous regions have handed in plans for cutting their number of official cars. Twenty-seven plans have been approved.
