Chinese physicist Wang Yifang, together with four scientists from other nations, received the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics in the United States on Monday, China Central Television reported. It was the first time a Chinese scientist has received the prize, the report said. Wang, 52, is the director of the Institute of High Energy Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was recognized for his contribution to the Daya Bay neutrino experiment, which can provide clues to the origins of the universe.
