Jin jumping to brilliant future

By Lei Lei | China Daily | Updated: 2015-11-10 07:54

In his first senior competition, Jin Boyang landed the world's first quadruple Lutz-triple toeloop combination - the highest-scoring technical element so far - to set the figure skating world abuzz.

Although the 18-year-old Chinese skater eventually had to settle for silver at the Cup of China in Beijing, he amply demonstrated why he is an emerging force in the sport.

On the third stop of this season's Figure Skating Grand Prix in the Chinese capital over the weekend, Jin brought the crowd to its feet with his surpring finish in the men's singles, beaten by reigning world champion Javier Fernandez of Spain by 6.18 points.
