Sci-fi writer predicts new tales from East

By Xinhua in Istanbul | China Daily | Updated: 2015-11-09 07:53

Liu Cixin, author of the Chinese sci-fi best-seller The Three-Body Problem, said on Saturday that science fiction writing will flourish one day in China and Turkey.

Liu referred to signs that the United States is losing its vigor as the center of world sci-fi literature, pointing to opportunities, challenges and uncertainties facing China and Turkey, two countries now undergoing rapid modernization.

"Science fiction writing is a genre of literature that describes changes," Liu said. "Regions and countries undergoing rapid changes and progress are fertile soil for sci-fi works."
