Beijing-Zhangjiakou rail project approved

The central government has approved plans for a 58.41-billion-yuan ($9.22 billion), 174-kilometer, Beijing-Zhangjiakou, northern Hebei province, high-speed rail project. It will be used during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, according to the Zhangjiakou Development and Reform Commission's website. To be constructed over four and a half years, it can ferry 60 million people annually.
