Companies pay 'little attention' to managing environmental performance of supply chains

One of the world's leading environmental advocacy groups has publishing a hard-hitting report on the lack of progress made by domestic and international retail manufacturing firms in China at introducing greener production methods.

Publishing its findings on 167 retail brand-related operations, the Natural Resources Defense Council said too many companies and their suppliers were still content to just run pilot projects aimed at cutting emissions, or publish glossy reports on their corporate social responsibility, rather than actually implementing effective programs.
