Too much of a good thing
Despite the recent successes of China's writers globally, literary awards at home have become the subject of an anti-corruption drive. The Ministry of Culture has cut the number of prizes for this year to reduce unhealthy competition, Yang Yang reports.
Recent international literary awards have shown the world a different side of China.
In 2012, Mo Yan won the Nobel Prize for literature and in August 2015 Liu Cixin won the Hugo Award for his science novel The Three-Body Problem.
