Business studies losing appeal

As family incomes increase, Chinese students overseas find less need to pursue a major seen as path to wealth

Fewer Chinese students who are going overseas to study are choosing to major in business, according to a report.

Last year, 25.5 percent of Chinese university students who chose to study abroad majored in business. In 2010, the proportion was 45.1 percent, according to the Annual Report on the Development of Chinese Students Studying Abroad.
