Senior military officer probed

Zhou Guotai, 66, a senior officer of the People's Liberation Army's general logistics department, is under investigation for "suspected severe discipline violations", according to a news release published on the PLA website on Wednesday. Zhou, former deputy head of the department's material and oil section, who was called "father of China's bulletproof vests", was put under investigation by the discipline agency of the general logistics department. Zhou's case has been handed over to the military procuratorate.
