Poll: Trudeau with big lead over Harper

Canadians began voting on Monday to decide whether to extend Conservative leader Stephen Harper's near-decade in power or return the country to its more liberal roots.

Harper, the prime minister, was trailing Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, the son of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, in national polls.

Liberals lead Conservatives by almost 9 percentage points in the CTV/Globe and Mail/Nanos Nightly Tracking Poll, 39.1 percent to 30.5 percent.
