China Daily | Updated: 2015-10-12 07:35

Item from Oct 12, 1991, in China Daily: Beijing residents purchase flowers from vendors near Ditan Park in the city. As people become more well off, they have shown increasing interest in purchasing little luxuries such as these to brighten their lives.

Few people also buy the flowers from street vendors. Instead, many get their floral fixes from the numerous florists in residential communities and shopping malls.
