Foundation offers free eye treatment
Nearly 1,000 people suffering from macular degeneration, an eye disease that affects mainly the elderly, have received free drugs under a charity program jointly carried out by China Social Assistance Foundation and Sichuan Kanghong Pharmaceutical Company. Launched in 2014, the program aims to improve the quality of life of MD sufferers by providing more effective treatment. So far, the program has been offered in 100 hospitals from 22 provinces and cities across the country.
