Park officials say glass cracks don't affect walkway's safety

By Agence France-Presse | China Daily | Updated: 2015-10-08 07:47

Thrill-seeking tourists in Jiaozuo, Henan province, got more than they bargained for when cracks appeared in a glass-bottom walkway suspended 1,080 meters over a canyon, reports said.

Images showing small cracks in the "skywalk" built around a mountain, which opened just two weeks ago, spread on social media along with doubts about its safety.

"When I was almost at the end, there was a sudden loud bang and a tremor beneath my feet," China.com.cn cited one woman as saying on Tuesday.
