Van Gaal enjoys view from the top

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was pleased, but refused to look too far ahead after watching his side take over top spot in the Premier League standings by thrashing Sunderland 3-0 on Saturday.

Manchester City's 4-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the day enabled United to move into top spot for the first time since Van Gaal took charge at the start of last season.

But the manager believes it is too early to gauge United's chances of a first title since legendary former boss Alex Ferguson delivered his 13th and final championship in 2013.
