22 confirmed dead as truck crosses road, slams into bus

Twenty-two people have been confirmed dead, with 13 others injured as of 9 pm on Friday, after a collision involving four vehicles on a highway in Hunan province, local authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 9:50 am on the Hunan section of the highway connecting Shanghai and Kunming, Yunnan province, according to an official in Hunan.

A truck with a license plate number from the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region crashed through a guardrail and struck a bus carrying 35 passengers. The bus caught fire. Two other vehicles collided as well, the official said.
