PGA China Series a springboard to international stardom

By Sun Xiaochen | China Daily | Updated: 2015-09-18 07:43

In the wake of teenager Guan Tianlang becoming the youngest golfer in history to make the cut in a major at the 2013 Masters, more Chinese youngsters are honing their skills on the domestic circuit.

While Guan, who was 14 when he gained global fame at Augusta, has since struggled with consistency, compatriot Li Haotong has emerged as a legitimate challenger on the international stage with an impressive performance on this year's Web.com Tour.

Although he did not qualify for direct promotion to the PGA Tour from the development circuit, 19-year-old Li can still grab one of the 25 cards up for grabs from the Web.com finals.
