Pupils' safety responsibility of schools

China Daily | Updated: 2015-09-16 09:39

The No. 2 Middle School in Jiujiang county, Central China's Jiangxi province, has reportedly forced some third-year students attending night classes to sign a "security agreement", saying the school is not responsible for their safety outside the campus. The school authorities have said all students agreed to the "disclaimer", and their parents should take the responsibility of their safety. Comments:

There is no such thing as a "disclaimer" for the Jiujiang middle school when it comes to the safety of the students. Instead of muscling through a self-disclaiming agreement, it should take precautions to improve class arrangements, and make sure the students get enough rest to deal with the intense pressure of studies.
