Fifty veterans gather for event in LA to mark anniversary of end of WWII

Fifty World War II veterans attended a large gathering of 6,300 people in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday evening to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the war.

The veterans - all older than 90, with some over 100 years old - were each awarded a specially designed medal engraved with the words "For Peace 1945-2015."

Artists from Southern California and China showed their respect to the veterans by presenting dance and music performances.
