China, US combat cybercrimes

China and the United States have reached important consensus on combating cybercrime. The consensus was brokered by President Xi Jinping's special envoy Meng Jianzhu, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee. Stressing China's firm stand against cyberattacks and commercial cyberespionage, Meng said anyone who engages in cybercrime in China violates Chinese law and will be held legally liable.
