1 killed in knife attack on street

A man from Heilongjiang province assaulted several people with a kitchen knife on the street in Chaoyang district on Tuesday morning, killing one person and injuring several others, police said. Police said they shot the assailant, surnamed Song, 29, after he resisted arrest, but he was not critically injured. The motive for the assault was being investigated.
