China launched its first experimental meteorological satellite from a launch center in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, yesterday.
The satellite, Fengyun No 1, has entered the solar-synchronous orbit, with all meters and instruments functioning normally, and has sent back its first cloud chart picture.
