Murray calls for heat rule to help curb retirements

Andy Murray battled back from two sets down to beat France's Adrian Mannarino at the US Open on Thursday and then called for a heat rule to cut the number of retirements, which have hit record levels at the tournament.

Murray, the third seed and 2012 champion, finally triumphed 5-7, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1 after his world No 35 opponent threatened to condemn him to his earliest loss in New York since his debut in 2005.
