UN hosts Speakers of Parliament conference

The fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament is scheduled to be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from today until Sept 2. The conference is part of a series of high-level meetings leading up to the UN Summit in late September, when its new Sustainable Development Goals are expected to be launched. Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the 12th National People's Congress Standing Committee, will attend the meeting.
