Excessive cyanide detected in water

Seven of 26 water monitoring stations in the core zone of the Tianjin chemical warehouse explosion have detected concentrations of highly toxic cyanide compounds. The concentrations exceeded the national standard on Sunday, with the highest being more than 36 times the standard. Air and water outside the core zone were all found to be within the national standard, the Tianjin Information Office said. The blasts on Aug 12 claimed 129 lives and left 44 missing as of Monday afternoon.
