Passerby eases farmer's burden

A passerby photographed an exhausted watermelon farmer sleeping outside on a rainy night and helped him sell up to 1,000 kg of melons in Xuchang, Henan province. Xu Zhanyuan, 25, found the farmer sleeping on a tractor loaded with melons on the way home from his night shift at about 1 am on Saturday. After hearing that the farmer planned to take the melons to a market before dawn, Xu helped him shelter from the rain and bought all the melons. Xu then posted pictures of the sleeping farmer on the Internet, calling for netizens to buy the melons because he could not eat them all. They were sold in just one day.
