In the years between the two world wars, it was the ultimate way to travel. Now, thanks to nostalgia - and Agatha Christie - the Orient Express is back in vogue. Mike Peters rides the rails overnight from Venice to London.

There's no air conditioning on this hot summer day. No toilet en suite. No Wi-Fi.

But the train I've just boarded is one of the world's most legendary luxury accommodations: the Venice-Simplon Orient Express.
