CPC expels Shanxi ex-official

Ling Zhengce, a former senior official in Shanxi province, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and public office after an investigation suspecting him of corruption. The probe found that Ling, former vice-chairman of the Shanxi provincial committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, exploited his position to help family members in business, sought profits for others in the promotion of officials and business operations, and took bribes, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said on Friday in a statement on its website.
