Tech firm helps explosion victims

Becton, Dickinson and Co, a medical technology company based in the United States, has donated 1 million yuan ($156,000) in medical products to hospitals in Tianjin. They will be used to treat casualties from the Tianjin port chemical explosion, which rocked the area last week. Employees from BD Tianjin went to major hospitals in the municipality to ask them what they could do to help. They also held discussions with health authorities and charitable organizations about putting together a donation package. Vince A. Forlenza, chairman and CEO of BD, announced the donation plan in China on Aug 14.
