John Salminen, 70, is a watercolor artist from the US known for his realistic urban landscapes. Salminen has won more than 230 major awards in national and international exhibitions. He is also an honorary member of the Jiangsu Watercolor Research Institute in China. The master painter depicts daily urban scenery drawn from his travels in China. Several famous Chinese painters who have traveled or studied in the US have also drawn inspiration from their experiences.
