Attacker shot by police officer

Israeli authorities say a Palestinian was shot dead after he stabbed a guard at a West Bank checkpoint. Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said the man approached border police at the checkpoint on Monday and told them he felt unwell. She said that when the attacker came closer, he pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the officers, causing slight injuries. Samri said another officer then shot the attacker dead.
