Injured subway rider compensated

Beijing Mass Transit Railway Operation Corp must pay more than 20,000 yuan ($3,170) to a passenger who was injured in an accident, according to a court ruling. The man, surnamed Zhu, suffered broken ribs when he was forcefully shoved into a subway compartment by a large crowd during the evening rush hour at Sihui subway station in 2013. Xicheng District People's Court ruled that because the rail operator failed to arrange enough security staff, it should be held accountable for the injuries.
