Top graft-buster's body cremated
The body of Wei Jianxing, former head of China's top anti-graft body, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, was cremated on Sunday. Wei died in Beijing on Aug 7 at the age of 85. He had also been a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and had served as chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions from 1998 to 2002. In Wei's obituary, he was praised as a statesman, an outstanding leader, a time-tested and loyal Communist soldier, and a proletarian revolutionist.
