Energy efficiency plan unveiled

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly announced a plan on Thursday to improve the nation's energy efficiency of distribution transformers. It will complete the upgrading project of high energy-consuming distribution transformers by the end of 2017. By then the use of high efficiency distribution transformers will be promoted to 600 million KVA, equivalent to 8.1 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction.
