Reach of discipline inspectors widens

By Wang Xiaodong | China Daily | Updated: 2015-08-15 08:03

A wide range of senior officials will be subject to regular inspections to guard against misconduct, under a revised regulation issued by the top leadership.

The regulation, made public on Thursday, applies to senior members of the Communist Party of China and includes a number of officials who were not previously covered by the top anti-graft watchdog. The list includes ministers and vice-ministers, chief provincial-level judges and procuratorial officials, leaders of institutes and of major State-owned enterprises.

Senior officials of Party committees and governments of vice-provincial-level cities, as well as senior officials for the top legislatures and advisory bodies of these cities, will also be covered by the central inspection teams dispatched by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
