Live-fire drills with US planned

South Korea announced on Wednesday a series of live-fire military drills with the United States as part of a response to a recent landmine attack it blames on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Four exercises involving heavy weaponry such as tanks, howitzers, attack helicopters and fighter bombers will be organized in the coming weeks in an area about 30 km south of the DPRK border, the Defense Ministry said.
