Most workers were sleeping in dormitories when mining camp covered by flood of mud

More than 60 people were missing after being buried in a landslide in Shanyang county, Shaanxi province, local authorities said, and experts warned their chances of survival were getting slimmer as the rescue work continued into Wednesday night.

The landslide took place at about 12:30 am on Wednesday when an estimated 1.3 million cubic meters of mud and rocks hit the living quarters of Wuzhou Mining Co and buried the people inside, according to the information office of Shanyang county.
