Zimbabwean wildlife authorities have partially lifted restrictions on big game hunting imposed earlier this month following the outcry over the killing of Cecil the lion by a US trophy hunter.
Authorities had suspended the hunting of lions, leopards and elephants in the area around Hwange National Park on Aug 1 after the black-maned Cecil - a favorite with park visitors - was shot with a bow and arrow by dentist Walter Palmer.
Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority announced the lifting of the ban in a statement on Monday. Some restrictions remain, however.
