Culture: Exhibition on women in ancient China

How did Chinese women present themselves in ancient times? What type of cosmetics did they use and what social trends did they follow? One of the latest exhibitions at Nanjing Museum in the capital of Jiangsu province aims to answer these and other related questions. The show features more than 200 items ranging from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), presenting aspects of traditional Chinese women's lives and tastes.
