By Wang Xin and Cang Wei in Nanjing | China Daily | Updated: 2015-08-11 07:57

Monkeys have descended from their mountainous habitat to make life a misery for residents in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province.

Many people in the city have complained that the animals are seriously affecting their daily lives.

The monkeys, which have been sighted at residential communities, college campuses and amusement parks, not only walk boldly on the streets, but also peer at residents through windows. Some have stolen food and clothing.
