Family rallies to save daughter

A couple from the Gongcheng Yao autonomous county, Li Zongtao and his wife, Lu Songqing, found that their 5-month-old daughter was suffering from a liver disease that could only be cured by a transplant. Li decided to donate part of his liver, and the operation was carried out on July 7. However, doctors found a malformation in Li's bile duct, meaning that the liver could not be used for a transplant. Lu then asked to donate her liver, and that operation on July 28 was a success. All three are now recovering.
