Decade-long wait ends in glory for Cseh

By Agence France Presse In Kazan, Russia | China Daily | Updated: 2015-08-07 08:35

Laszlo Cseh admitted he fought back tears after winning the 200m butterfly gold at the world swimming championships on Wednesday to capture his first major title in a decade.

The Hungarian clocked 1 min, 53.48 sec to beat Chad Le Clos by just 0.20 sec as South Africa's world and Olympic champion had to settle for silver.

Poland's Jan Switkowski took bronze 0.62 sec back as Cseh won a world gold for the first time since taking the world 400m individual medley title in Montreal in 2005.
