Rafael bolts United for new start with Lyon

Seven-time former Ligue 1 champion Lyon announced late on Monday the club has signed Brazilian rightback Rafael from Manchester United.

"Olympique Lyonnais informed of an agreement reached with Manchester United for the transfer of Brazilian international Rafael da Silva, who will sign in the coming days a four-year contract up to 30 June, 2019," read a club statement.

"The player passed his medical today in Lyon and will be presented to the media by the end of the week," said the media release.
