Media briefing on lawyers' rights
On Thursday, the Beijing No 4 Intermediate People's Court is scheduled to hold a media briefing to discuss guidelines covering the protection of lawyers' rights, including those that involve case hearings and inquiries. The guidelines come amid the implementation of judicial reforms nationwide. There are about 270,000 lawyers in China, according to the Supreme People's Court.
