Naked 9-year-old begs with mother

A naked boy with burns all over his body was seen begging for money with his mother in downtown Chengdu. The 9-year-old from Nanchong was burned seven years ago in a fire, according to his mother, Feng Yulan. She said the only way in which people would believe her son had burns was for him to be naked. She also said they continued to beg because he needed money for an operation. Police confirmed Feng is the boy's biological mother and reported the case to civil affairs authorities in Nanchong.
