Funds granted to quake-hit county

The top economic planner on Monday allocated 50 million yuan ($8.1 million) of emergency funds to a quake-stricken county in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. The National Development and Reform Commission said the funds will be used to support infrastructure restoration. A magnitude-6.5 quake shook Pishan county, inhabited largely by ethnic Uygur people, on July 3 and left three dead and 263 injured.
